How life is like in Russia?

I always have fascination with Russia, where men are masculine and women are ladies. I like their orthodox buildings and the way they respect their traditional culture. I like how their language sounds too.

I wonder what a life is in Russia. It would be perfect if someone who has lived in both the West and Russia can tell me more.

If you believe what I was taught in school, it's always black and white in Russia, with cloudy dreary weather, and perpetually cold. And everybody has head scarves and their lives suck.
