Is PC gaming dying? or just Multiplayer...

So one thing has been stressing me out recently and that's the lack of people playing MP games on PC. So i have quite a few multiplayer games and it's getting annoying in many games to find games etc and when i use steam charts to get population numbers it's extremely worrying. Only a handfull of games have thousands of players with the big majority having a few hundred or less. Games like eve valkyrie which i recently bought reported as little as 2! players the other day. 6 billion people on this plannet, hundreds of millions on steam and 2 in a fairly recent space game which aint half bad at all and one of the few VR space games also.

Now many people are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about BFV saying its the worst bf bla bla and that BF4 is the best BF since BF4 so today i reinstalled the game just loaded it up and bam not a SINGLE person in 90% of the game modes other than conquest large and rush. bf4 stats.com says there's 8000 players online but not a single person in carrier assault etc? the ♥♥♥♥?

I don;t know if it's because everyone has or is going console, if there's just too many MP games now everyone is split that far and wide games just can;t keep population anymore but all i can tell is MP games on PC left and right are dropping to dead status like flies and it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ depressing as a PC gamer to see. Even VR on PC which i would have expected the hardcore pc community to pick up has combines sold 4-5x less than PSVR alone...

When people say PC gaming is dying, were talking about the days in where games were created not for billion's upon billions of dollars of profit.

Gaming has died in the sense that we will never see games like half life expect in rare occasions such as the witcher 3. What we do get however are games such as fornite on a daily basis, yea pc gaming has pretty much died if your not a trendy kid.

then it's never been alive because there always been peoples who made games just because there is a potential to earn a lot's of money from it.

hell , even Nolan bushnell who started Atari din't give a ***** once he had made his money with the company.

You know how much it cost for 4K pc 1080p when you can buy ps4 pro for less than 300 dollars or Xbox one x for under 400? Not like you can get new graphics card cheap. These consoles are affordable

Neither of these consoles does 4k, so it doesn't matter how much they cost, you can throw a rx480 into any prebuilt and get a better performance

Honestly, I wouldn't mind spending that pretty penny just to get that HQ screeny in the games I play on the PC since I do alot of artwork on the screenshots I take. I won't be able to do that on a console though (photo editing), but if I have like a group hangout at my home, then I prefer the console over the PC.

And No, PC gaming is not dying for me since I'm all out PC when it comes to The Sims and Simulator games. Again, personal preferences.

I was talking about Atari as business (they where also making arcade games) , nothing to do with the console that bear the same name.

and my point is there always been peoples in the gaming industry just because they want to earn a tons of money with little efforts , doesn't mean the PC gaming is dead just because a few company goes out of their way to dig in your pockets.
