Is PC gaming dying? or just Multiplayer...

So one thing has been stressing me out recently and that's the lack of people playing MP games on PC. So i have quite a few multiplayer games and it's getting annoying in many games to find games etc and when i use steam charts to get population numbers it's extremely worrying. Only a handfull of games have thousands of players with the big majority having a few hundred or less. Games like eve valkyrie which i recently bought reported as little as 2! players the other day. 6 billion people on this plannet, hundreds of millions on steam and 2 in a fairly recent space game which aint half bad at all and one of the few VR space games also.

Now many people are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about BFV saying its the worst bf bla bla and that BF4 is the best BF since BF4 so today i reinstalled the game just loaded it up and bam not a SINGLE person in 90% of the game modes other than conquest large and rush. bf4 stats.com says there's 8000 players online but not a single person in carrier assault etc? the ♥♥♥♥?

I don;t know if it's because everyone has or is going console, if there's just too many MP games now everyone is split that far and wide games just can;t keep population anymore but all i can tell is MP games on PC left and right are dropping to dead status like flies and it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ depressing as a PC gamer to see. Even VR on PC which i would have expected the hardcore pc community to pick up has combines sold 4-5x less than PSVR alone...

you dont need an expensive pc to play on pc , so its not really a luxury
if you want to paly together and have fun , no current gen console is right for you , most consoles today moved away from that kind of thing

the way the kid was treated obviously wasnt nice but its his parents fault to expect the internet to look after their child for them , the internet isnt a child friendly place

Consoles will always be more successful, which why I say valve buy Microsoft they can get back into console market. By next gen steam profit gonna drop by 10%. It's not secure even in the slightest. PSN gets hacked nearly every year, and Xbox Live is infamous for its cheating problems.

I had nothing but issues with PSN and I disliked Xbox Live when I tried it with a friend

Companies shouldn't try to outsell each other and just work together and get this cross-platform working like a charm (as easy as just a press of a button to invite other players from different platforms without restrictions). in order to surpass pc gaming , consoles would need to atleast be on par with pcs of 2013 , which they arent , consoles are decades behind pc
