AAA fighting games?

I have a PS4 and i'm looking for something to play with when the lads come to my household. I have Mortal Kombat X but it's too gory to be shown on a giant TV screen, so i will trade it up with another game. Thanks in advance!

Tekken is good enough.

I'd also say Street Fighter 5 because it has PC crossplay, but game requires way too much grinding in order to unlock all the characters, unless you're willing to spend few bucks. It's also harder to get into compared to Tekken.

All of those are also available for PS4, all of them are at least good iMho and not particularly gory. There is also Tekken 7, but I do not own that one, so I can't recommend it.

Without the artifical "AAA" restriction, Skullgirls is considered to be a good fighting game.

Ah, I didn't know it was on the PS 4 - It is indeed a great game and a good, not too expensive 'backup' ;-)

He should avoid this one, playerbase is dead from what I've heard, and it's underwhelming in general. If Capcom manages to turn the tables with the so called "Marvel vs Capcom Infinite 4" rumored update, then yeah he should give it a chance.

As far as I understood, he is looking for local multiplayer, so the player base is pretty unimportant. The game itself I found to be quite fun.

Yeah, I've heard that gameplay itself was fun, but then again, I'd rather just pick Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 which is also on PS4, has a better roster, and overall looks better. If they're casually playing it, then they won't have to worry about combos which last forever.

I have both of those and felt they were pretty good. I also have Tekken and strongly recommend it. However, IMO, BlazBlue and Tekken gets a little lewd with some of their characters. BlazBlue has ~4 characters that are pretty lewd but with a 20+ roster it isn't so bad.
