Games you can't play but tried to?
I've tried to play Arkham City twice, but I can't stick to it. So much hype for so little rewarding gameplay. The combat isn't my thing I guess. Batman comes across like he's autistic for some reason.

How 'bout you guys?

Huh, I've heard the shooting is wonky.

Nier Automata.

People kept telling me how great of a game it was and how amazing the story was as well.
It got boring, but I held on and ket going. They said it got better later on in the game. Kept going and going. Then I got bored and gave up on it.

I wanted to like the game.

Are you a DC fan of any sort? I dunno, I find the games appealing.

Yakuza is boring to me. Probably because the game takes place in a country AND city that I live in.. and it's nothing special.

Magicka.

The controls are just way too confusing to me; it feels so awkward to play, keyboard+mouse or controller. I go back to it every once in a while and give it another go, but my brain is always like, “Nope, I can’t do this.”

Dwarf Fortress, and possibly Cataclysm DDA, but I intend to try that one again.

also every game I ever refunded on steam, including but not limited to: Undertale.
Hotline Miami

Unlike other "difficult" indie games, I can't seem to find fun in constantly failing and retrying in the game. The controls have some room for improvement as well.

Fallout 4.
I just get so bored, and I have no idea what I'm doing. And the world just doesn't interest me that much. I don't like hopping on bandwagons, but New Vegas will always be the best Fallout to me. There were so many different enemies and gangs, not just generic Raiders.

new bethesda games (including ESO) are all modding platforms... you need to get yourself some mods to customize your experience, fo4 is easily the best in the series

Slime Rancher.
There's just no real goal so for me, there's nothing to do in this game

Teslagrad. It seemed like something I'd like and it sells itself as a puzzle metroidvania. I liked the first section where you needed to interact with non-hostile enemies, but then they threw in a regular boss and showcased that the lack of lives means you die after one hit. After an annoying boss they introduced new areas with hostile enemies, damaging obstacles and little to no checkpoints. Very rage-inducing at that point. To me the game is a failure of a game design and I think the existence of Hollow Knight proves that. Playing both games close to each other really taught me the difference between real difficulty and bad game design. I suck at Hollow Knight, but I got further in there and know me not progressing is due to my own shortcomings.
Haha, I know one of the Teslagrad developers personally and now in October I tried the game.
