The Whole IRS Snapchat Debacle

Thoughts on this? Be civil and don't argue, I just wanted to see what you guys thought about it.

For those who are uninformed, camgirls and premium snapchats are being reported to the IRS for possible tax fraud.

It's not necessarily that they view taxes as punishent. It's merely that they want to inflict damage of some kind. They only care about hurting the person/people who is/are the object of their hate. They don't care how it's done. It's why we have things like swatting, death threats, online stalking, hateful mobs trying to get people fired from their job, etc., etc...

The punishment aspect has to do with how they justify whatever method of inflicting damage that they've employed. "You deserve to suffer." It doesn't necessarily matter whether the person or group actually did anything illegal. What matters is what can be used to hurt them.

It is. But as I said, when it comes to tax, the IRS is supposed to be impartial.

If I stretch this to its extreme logical absurdity, just because someone had a personal, petty interest in seeing Al Capone crash and burn doesn't mean the IRS should have exempted him on the grounds of "we don't act on personal vendettas".

If some sore loser snitched on me for having broken a rule, I don't get to call him mean and say he should just get over himself and that I shouldn't have to follow rules just because he's salty.

They're separate issues.
