Anyone else have "NPCs" that 'talk TO them' in their Dreams..?
Just wondering if anyone else has NPCs in their dreams ('strangers' or entities that do not personally know) that talk TO them - as in, not just make comments, or react to what they are doing (eg. if you are being silly in the middle of a hallway, the other NPCs in your dreams will look at you funny, walk away slowly, etc - that is all NORMAL). What I mean is, as an example, I'll be in a situation of say, two friends fighting, so I'll say something to try to calm them down - and there will be an 'npc' that comes in from the side, looks at me right in the face, real close, and says things like,
"WHY DID YOU SAY THAT?"
or
"WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF YOU DOING THAT?"
(not yelling, just wide-eyed asking very seriously, very close to my face)
like they are analyzing why I chose my action/response to the situation.

It is really creepy when it happens, and it gives the impression that I don't "control" those entities that speak to me that way (humans as NPCs in my dream).
It doesn't happen all the time, it seems to happen a few nights in succesion, then not again for a while.

Just wondering if anyone else has these types of 'NPCs in their dreams'..?

Having npcs that talk to you in dreams is something common to the Tulpamancer and thier "wonderlands"

I had npcs myself back when I used to maintain a wonderland.

A wonderland (Dumb name I know) is a place you try to always start in when you meditate. Each session it can become more "real" and defined to you, from doing so often over many, many sessions.

no i just go to sleep and wake up in 8 hours, occasionally dreaming that i got my butt stuck in a helicopter (that talks) or some other nonsense

Usually dreams don't mean anything OP. Unless you wanted one of these "npcs" from you dreams to be with in your waking hours. I'd just ignore it personally. Or I'd try to find if your brains trying to tell you some message. Or if something your watching, taking/playing/eating/ect is behind it.

Yeah, i've had a few mysterious strangers imparting wisdom. They've never been shocked or disappointed at any decisions i've made in dreams though. I think i do fairly well on all the tests.

Actually, there is one time i think i screwed up, but i don't remember being scolded. I knew when i woke up i had made a mistake though, because it was obvious.

I sometimes have dreams that mysterious people appear in my life and make some sort of impact, like some alternate reality where some strange face has had a massive effect in my life, and in the dream I just live the alternate reality.

Worded that wierd, let me try to elaborate.

So, in the 'real world' you have lived part of your life, which you (hopefully) know quite a bit about. Well, in some dreams, that entire memory is modified, slightly, yet significantly, by a single person that you don't know in the 'real world' Just a single person as a difference, yet the alternate reality within your dreams is completely different.

Dunno why you want your brain testing you. The brain can create very scary stuff if you really want it to challenge you....Worse than you might think possible. haha....ha..... One day, I'd be over the trauma from making the mistake of asking mine to give me its worse.

Maybe one day using a wonderland again won't give me ptsd.

That's where you're wrong. Dreams 99% of the time have some relation to your conscious life. It's just not always clear. There's almost always a meaning in your dream.

As for @OP, I have this reoccurring thing in my dreams where I have a friend which in my dream I apparently know this "friend" but when I wake up I'm like "who the hell was that?". And this friend doesn't appear the same in every dream, he varies dream by dream. Idk if that counts as "NPC".

That is a better way to describe what I mentioned above. I agree with your statement by the way, dreams somehow help you change your life from some sort of wisdom bestown onto you. It has bettered some of my relationships in some ways.

Perhaps the human body isn't 'our' body, but a host our soul uses, so the old, 'overwritten' being provides the occasional information for us...

If you wanna think your brain's screensaver has meaning, I'm not gonna stop you.

All the time.

And, yes, I also often have dreams that continue several nights in a row (sometimes extending to three), many with the same people and in the same general location/environment. A good number of them lucid, too. Those just blow my mind...

There are different theories as to what's actually happening during REM sleep, but I won't go into them here. Too deep a discussion.

Suffice it to say, however, I tend to think these are all more than mere random firings of brain cells. MUCH more...

No... can't say that I have. Or maybe I can, i'm not sure to be honest. I never "see" or remember my dreams.
White Knight Nov 24, 2018 @ 6:33pm
Nope. Can't say that I've ever interracted with an NPC in any dreams.

Games do make their way into my dreams though. Usually it's just me moving about as though I were watching myself play in my own game.

I heard of an interesting trick in dream analysis where you examine your dream from the perspective of every thing and every one in it. Everything is you.

In that way, your NPC's questions take on a new meaning...maybe a new value even?

Keep a dream journal near your bed. When you wake up, first thing try to write down anything you remember, any tiny detail at all.

Dreams are rarely remembered unless very impactful because the brain doesn't think they are worth remembering. So you gotta work to make your brain think they are important enough.

I've had experiences in dreams that prove to me they aren't just things the physical brain comes up with.

And i never have nightmares, or even the crazy kind of things other people talk about. Everything is very controlled. Whenever things even begin to get crazy i bring everything back to normal, or pull some serious wizard stuff on any antagonists.

When I wake up, the first thing I do is go to the bathroom and get ready for work. I don't have any time to sit down and write.

I don't see the point. I never remember my dreams - it's been that way from day one for me. I go to sleep, and then I wake up to the next day. It could be possible that I have Charcot–Wilbrand syndrome. But who knows?
