Mouse overheating?
A friend said that a logitech g502 melted trough hes mousepad and that it doesnt work.
And its my mouse he is loaning cus he broke his last one aswell.
is this something i should belive or no?

Edit: I tried speaking with him and asked him if he could take it with to school 2 days in a row stil hasnt showed up with it, either he feels bad about breaking it in some way or he might be trying to make money maybe by selling it used or some ♥♥♥♥. idk yet.

But i have more friend that are still backing me up and they think its BS aswell so i might just ask his parents for a replacement because he was just using it until he got a new one which he said he was going to.

Sounds ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid
Only way I think that could happen, is if he broke the wire

No.
Only places with extreme heat + a mouse wiring issue would lead to something as insane as a mouse building enough heat to melt through its bottom layer and then a mousepad. (I'm talking about reaching 38C or 100F INSIDE the house + a wiring issue.

No.

Also, speak with your friend about this. You should not be posting this here. Unless you are trying to be funny. But if you want to funny, you're better off in a theatre or circus..

The OP should be talking to his friend then. Because I really have no idea what he/she is trying to accomplish by telling us this. It has no purpose, other than perhaps comedy.
But if this is supposed to be comedy then... well... do you think we should we laugh? Even if it´s not funny?

It´s as if someone picks up poop, starts rubbing it on his face, and then tries to give you a handshake, assuming it's funny. But that's not funny. Because it's just plain stupid.

But I couldn't be accusing the OP of being stupid, now can I? Because that's against the forum rules.

I see two problems: 1: His friend is obviously lying and 2: He thinks OP is stupid.

Back in my day this would lead to a punch in the face, a foot on the chest, and the point-blank question "do you really think I'm that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid?"

Then I'd take my mouse.

OP could of course be making this whole thing up for attention.

tell your friend to keep candles away from the mouse
put mouse on diet so it doesnt overeat

Pretty much the only reason it would do that is if the wires started to shortcircuit... But he'd smell it way before it started melt the plastic all the way through.

Switch out the mouse pad to a RELAXUS Hot/Cold frozen Gel Pack... they are flat.
Your sensitive is too low and the friction is creating excess heat. My gaming advice is that you should increase your dpi to max. It’ll keep your computer and mouse cool and you won’t have to use your arm to move your mouse.
A usb port don't even create that much voltage to melt a mouse even with a short in the wire. Plus the short would probably fry the usb port first before anything else.
