Don't you hate it if people just delete you randomly?
Just happened to me while I took a nap. A particular person added me a few days ago and told me we would know each other for a longer time.. like years. Fine, cool. Rebuilding a bridge and I started to remember her and not in a bad way and we started to talk alot and nothing bad happened at all. She had a few issues and started to be inactive back then, so we lost contact in the first place, atleast what I tried to remember.

Anyway: just like I mentioned above I told her that I'm going to take a nap and she was all good, even told me she liked me as a person to talk to back then and I went to bed. I woke up and checked the phone: gone. Literally deleted me without a message and without any trace at all. Took me 15 minutes to trace her back and still waiting for an answer, because this is a very awful way to deal with a person.

Now some of you may think: why do you care at all? Personally I dont care about losing contact, but the fact that someone added you with a common background back then and decided to do this terrible move a second time after wasting time is beyond me.

Anyone else with a similar story?

Yeah well obviously not IRL people. If they do that, I do talk to them personally but I have no IRL friends deleting me randomly.

It happened to me once. I didn't really care about losing anything because it's not like I really liked her and we certainly weren't close, but it did irk me that she added me, kept me for a day (or hours), just to delete me. Twice.

Like I said, I am not angry about loosing contact with that particular person, it isnt a strong feeling either, it is how the situation ended. I agree, with 800 friends I wouldnt care at all, because you cant figure it out anyway... but I have like 150 and I cleaned alot, she was on the recent chat on the top spot and just saw her gone after I checked.

What I'm trying to say is, if you talk to someone on a proper basis and have a pretty well established communication, atleast have the decency to give a reason before deleting the person you just built a bridge with.

People come and go. There is not always a need for a reason why. Things happen. You don't know what they are going through or thinking.

Unfortunately I'm one of these people that do want to know the reason. Like I said, I've no issue with loosing contact. People come and go, I'm completely fine with it. But if you add me and we happen to talk to each other alot and you just delete me for no reason out of the blue, you better explain it before you do so.

I do know what she is going through, but obviously not what she was thinking there.

^This.

Happens all the time. I made a post in the ark forums about this very topic. People advertise looking for players, I respond, then they add me and I ask them "tell me about your clan/goals" and then they just delete me. Idiots.

The last part is why you need to let the other person come back to you on their terms. If you push it, it can keep you separated for a lot longer, if not forever.

If they don't come back, that is up to them and nothing you say or do will change that.

I didn't push anything. I didnt pressure her into telling me anything. I dont know if you read my initial post but I said in the last part that I actually dont care about loosing contact, but how the situation was dealt with in the first place.

If I had no contact to her and she is in my friendlist, fine. But it's the context that matters. I had to vent a bit i guess. It wont bother me long term obviously, but it's just straight up annoying. I suffer from depression, it doesnt make me delete people randomly for no reason.

I can agree on that. People who unfriend without explanation don't get a second chance in my friend list.

I had a guy who sent me a friend request once. He got mad because "I wasn't helping" to keep the conversation going (I was busy and trying to talk to him, but my replies were "slow" so he didn't like that). I kindly said that he can unfriend me if he doesn't like it. He did and months later he sent me another request, only to unfriend me again. This time, he didn't unfriend me for being slow, he unfriended me because I had a personal issue which I just shared with him. He didn't like my opinion and decisions, so he unfriended me. Literally unfriended me for having an opinion and for taking decisions that he considered wrong.

This is why people who unfriend me won't get a second chance anymore. Once they unfriend me, it's over.
Yes, this is what I'm talking about! Different context but similar process. Thank you for sharing. Though he had reasons and also told you what was going on, there isnt a single proper reason. Responding slower and having a different opinions is something completely normal.

When I had a fight with someone for something trivia, and he unfriended me the next day, I waited a day, left a message on discord, even ask a friend that was also on his friend list to left a message, if he willing to start over and let it be water under the bridge, few days later we made up, and got on better terms.

Basically what 9's saying is what I'm explainging to you, is basically the same kind of idea, so give a little space, and no need to push anything, leave a message like one, or two, and wait it out.

By pushing it, I mean trying to ask about it. Period. People take things like that very different if they are not at 100% mentally.

Which is the issue. No discord, I can't leave a message, just added her back to check out. We have no common friends either but I'm glad you got on better terms.

Pretty much, leave a sorry message, or want to make up, and that's about it.
