Unique Username vs Common Username

Tell me what you nice fellas prefer. Games that allow you to have the same usernames as others or a unique username for every individual?

I think usernames should all be unique, though in an MMO multiple characters should be able to share a character name.

It's hard to think unique usernames and the most common usernames can be ovverated. So I'll just say both and balanced.

My default username is Hobbokin.

I like being able to change our names whenever we feel like it. Places that enforce unique usernames tend not to allow changes, or they charge a high price for changing them, so I dislike them.

Common usernames; having a unique username system where you have to sit there for hours trying to scramble up a new username because yours was already taken is extremely frustrating. Sure you still have to live with that stupid log-in name you chose when you first joined, but at least it doesn't have to be your steam name.

I mean, my username isn't very original, but it's kinda fitting for me I guess. I've gone by so many different names that it's hard to remember what most of my old friends remember me as

I really can't be asked to repeatedly type in multiple different usernames because "this username has already been taken", then having to settle for some name that has a bunch of ugly numbers & other strange characters.

While my original name on the other hand (Chemistara), only me alone
