why do people hate denuvo?
it's that like a software that requires you to be online to play the game?

I don't see why there is such a deal regarding this, players spend most of their time online soo can someone explain me why some people won't buy a game because of this?

Because it starts another round of intrusive protection schemes that doesn't help with anything and blows up into people's faces eventually.

Happened with disk protections installing drivers and operating system patches to protect themselves, and Denuvo is just the first step of going down the same route for protecting DRM.

Imagine you aren't in your home, have no internet, or don't even have internet access at all in your home for 1-2 weeks. Then you can't play your games.

I've had my internet go out for as long as 3 weeks before.
Now imagine not being able to play something I purchased for near a month. Not only that, but Denuvo can cause performance issues, look at what happened to Final Fantasy XV and Sonic Mania. Denuvo is an outdated waste of software, it only delays the inevitable as it's always cracked.

It's because a lot of people believe every rumor they hear and then repeat it to other like minded people.

Because not everyone likes having DRM piling on DRM as is.

Plus it'll be a matter of time till the games we paid good money for become unusable without resorting to third party programs.

From what I heard about it in Sonic Mania, it was detecting legitimately purchased copies of the game to be pirated, and preventing people from playing them.

In a few cases it was also shown to tank performance
