Clone Hero Trouble!

Hello everyone,
I recently discovered clone hero and as I am a fan of guitar hero I wanted to download it. The problem is that whenever I download the zip file and extract to another folder, the game launches, takes me to the main menu for like 1-2 frames and then just crashes and closes. On top of that, it deletes the exe by itself which is really weird to me. The file is still in the zip folder but this makes it virtually impossible to even launch the game. I've tried running as admin but same thing happened. If it means anything, I have windows 7 still, but that does not seem to be the main issue as it (kind of) launches.. Any help / solutions?

it's probably your antivirus or windows defender detecting it as a virus. Pause whatever defenses you have running and it should work. Don't worry it's not a virus, I've had this game for 2 years now no problems.

it's probably your antivirus or windows defender detecting it as a virus. Pause whatever defenses you have running and it should work. Don't worry it's not a virus, I've had this game for 2 years now no problems.

Should probably clarify that it's not a virus so long as you're getting it from the proper source.

If you got it from here, then it's not malware (unless if hackers got into the servers and put something in the releases, but that goes for *all* official releases on the internet).

Yeah, haha. To most people here on Steam, it's probably pretty obvious. But I remember 13 year old me downloading some adware-infested version of GIMP. Some people just make mistakes, and I've met my fair share of people who think download.com is a legit site to download stuff from. Best to be safe than sorry, though I don't always succeed in remembering to be safe in this sort of thing when suggesting it to people, haha.

Yeah agreed haha. A classmate of mine had actually downloaded SMITE from pirate bay believe it or not!
