Is armor worthless/useless?

im no expert of course but skrallgrim and shad are
not even they could really explain things and i havint heard back from them on facebook
anyways, if you ever hit the wall, brick, wood or metal and table, its going to hurt cause bone and muscle are weak, that same sturdyness should be expected in movies, shows and anime right?
doesnt seem that way, as seen in power rangers and pacific rim, metal and limbs are torn off like paper, why? in sci-fi where this sort of thing can be over powered but is torn and wrecked easily.
stormtrooper and droids fall to laser fire and in reality cant a sword or perhaps a arrow penetrate easily if metal vs metal? or in gundam, what is gundam metal? in wing, the wing gundam is supposed to OP and unkillable yet the artist/animator love GIANT BEAMS OF PURE DEATH from tiny guns just for the sake of eye candy, Wing gundam gets Destroyed like how Zero from MMX was but wasnt caused of a giant beam. white gundamn shield is sliced and blown up.

I wouldn't call armor useless/worthless, though it depends on the type and the weapon used. A killing blow would probably still be a killing blow regardless, but if for example a sword glanced off you, it'd be good to have thick leather and chain mail so the blow doesn't penetrate to your skin. Without armor, a glancing blow would cut you, possibly deep.

Kinda like how if you get shot with a bulletproof vest - it'll hurt like a mofo, and knock the wind outta you, but it could save your life... So, I don't think armor is entirely useless.

The heavy knight plate armor gear though - that stuff seems impractical.

The bad mobility of plate armor is mostly just modern myth, it wasnt nowhere near as bad and keep in mind that those guys were trained since they were 7.

I have an insert from a vest with a bullet stuck in it. Armor is totally useful.

Light or medium armor are best, heavy armor just lose much mobility.

I think their currently working some kind of power armor, doubt we can afford that, but it’s a cool technology.

Once that's there, give it a few years and it'll be bypassed by someone who works out its weaknesses.
