I don’t bother listening to his music and I don’t like him as a person, but I can’t be bothered to hate on him because I have other things to do.
He is old, really old news.
The same could be said for several other big names in our current music biz as well (Beyonce, Kanye, Shawn Mendes, The Chainsmokers, the entire One Direction collective including all their solo careers, etc...) Nowadays, most of the bigwigs in the music biz don't care about genuine talent anymore, instead they go for performers who, while in many cases are poor or otherwise lacking in raw musical ability, have an aesthetic image that's considered marketable and appealing to today's youth market (teenage girls in particular). This is a significant reason as to why our mainstream music scene's been going through this period of stagnation over the past few years, at least from my perspective.
The modern-day artists who I really think deserve all the success that Bieber undeservingly got? Andrew W.K., Babymetal and The Protomen are just a few of the names that come to mind...
