This is why I love cartoons.
But some games wouldn't work if they were realistic or stylized. Think of it this way, could team fortress II work if it was realistic ?
"realistic" is a constantly changing concept, and realistic tends to look less so in a decade, but a game with an art style can still be decent looking in the future (at worst case, once the texture resolution has been upped)
Realistic graphics have always something to be compared to, real life and also more recent realistic graphics, and will always look outdated compared to those so it is inevitably going to age bad or at least look outdated at some point.

even in 720p the graphics in the game still look good to this day in 4k it looks alot better
its just a matter of making graphics able to upscale well to higher resolutions and still look good
I mean, it depends. For something like Final Fantasy Kingsglaive, I'm pretty sure it'll never look dated
That thing looks so real I had to remind myself this was all CG, which I never had to do before
