First Person Shooters V.S. Third Person Shooters?
So, between first person shooters and third person shooter games, which do you like more?..

Third person shooter games allow you to switch shoulders, peak arround corners, or implement cover systems and let you see your characters and offer different camera options.

First person shooters are simpler. There usually isn't an ability to switch shoulders, are less likely to have cover systems, but generally offer a more realistic point of view and many offer the option of using the sites and optics on the weapons for a first person perspective.

So, which do you find more enjoyable, more fun, and why?

They're too similar for me to have a preference.

And on the note of shoulder swapping, I prefer just having my character in the center of the screen and the camera zoomed out.
Both, and games that allow the player to choose on the fly is always a big plus. The Suffering, and Elder Scrolls are prime examples of games where the option for perspective play style is up to the player.
FPS for the level of immersion. I am not a fan of playing with a dolly in TPS. I grew out of dolls a long time ago. Though I won't let playing with a dolly put me off a game. if the game world is something I like the idea of or the combat works better in TP.
I find First-Person more immersive, for me that outweighs the simplicity. Especially when there's a great story or world to immerse myself in.

my experience with this is these games really only do TPS or FPS well while implementation of the other isnt all that great, and probably better off not implemented at all
Shooters, I have no preference.
Other genres, third person.
Why not like both? They have different gameplay from each other.

Grand Theft Auto V is a good example of this. Playing that game in first person mode just seemed strange. It was far more playable in third person, to me.

and a good example of the opposite are elder scrolls games.. while not a shooter per se, going into 3rd person mode just doesnt work well

It's not about the perspective, but the game. The only shooters I still play in modern age is Grand Theft Auto V & Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege....

But if steam had a socom (third person) I would play the hell out of that because of how good Socom is.

At the moment, I prefer the tactical awareness of third-person. Playing a bit of Skyrim SE lately, and for the first time since I got into TES, I'm actually using the third-person perspective despite the fact that my head just stops existing from time to time (SE is buggy as hell, even by Bethesda standards).

First Person. It doesn't (usually) allow the player to cheat by peering around/over a wall... For multiplayer. I prefer the Third Person Shooters in singleplayer.

you do make a point with cover shooters being quite unrealistic with that ability.. regular TPS as well because nobody can actually see around a corner without exposing themselves

im reading complaints from pubg people about how exploitative and unfair the TPS system is on there with peope moving to a location and laying on top of roofs or behind trees where they can rotate the camera around and see whats going on without ever exposing themselves
I like both but I prefer FPS more.
i dont think i agree necessarily that FPS has more action.. i see things like dodges, rolls, slides, and climbing obstacles dont a lot more in third person shooters than i see in FPS where many of those things are just left out.. a game like mass effect or gears of war as examples, and i dont remember seeing any FPS game that did these things well
Both are good in their own rights but 3rd person gives you the power to corner peek and just wait until someone comes by for you to gun him down. First person you have to actually peek around the corner to see if someone is there.
