And their games are not even as great as they were in the past (snce the Wii U their games have become more shallow and less relevant imo)
There are so many great Nintendo past games that should at least be on PC to let as many people as possible play them and love them, first of all Super Mario Galaxy 1
But with that subscription that Nintendo is trying to shove down their customer's throats the don't even deserve to get paid anymore. Their games should become public domain to teach them a lesson. Everybody should have them for free.
Nintendo would get the punishment they deserve and humanity would have a big amount of immensely good games to know and love for free.
But being able to have them on Steam would be good enough.
I wouldn't be very happy to buy them again after what they have done on Switch witrh their OFFENSIVE subscription but those games are so extremely good that I would do it anyway.
The games still deserve so. People at Nintendo don't.
Nintendon't deserve any respect anymore.
I disagree with this statement, I own all consoles and the xbox 360 was one of the best console ever made. But the Xbox one failed to live up to the 360 due to bad business decisions from the very top. The xbox one reveal must go down in history as one of the worst business mistakes of all time and it really cost microsoft dear.
Gamers were so outraged to what was said at the reveal, even die hard xbox fans moved over to sony. I know quite a few loyal xbox gamers who were stoked for the xbox one but after the reveal turned to the PS4.
Then comes the PS4 reveal, I couldn't believe what I was seeing, game after game after game being played and aimmed at gaming (as consoles such be).
Be interesting to see what ms and sony do for the next consoles, if ms go the same way as the xbox one at launch then I see them pulling out. One thing in gaming, they is no loyally.
The apple pippin.. total fail. But that was then, this is now and apple are a loved brand.
Most new console-ish focuses have all been on Android or iOS lately built for plugging into a TV and playing the many mobile games through it, because to many companies now believe that mobile gaming is the future to a money making standpoint, you can rake in the cash easily because Johnathan can't wait 30 minutes for his life to respawn in Candy Crush.
And that mobile game making generally takes half the time to make compared to all games we have here, they can push those out much faster, release them as free to play and riddle them with microtransactions and advertisements to force a sell, either way they still make money if no one makes a purchase by selling personal information and advertizing the user.
Edit: Fixed a lot of spelling and grammar errors.
Amazon is looking at games as a streaming service like PSNow, since they already have the cloud/datacenters in place to support that. Any console from them would effectively be a kin to the Steam Link, not a full-fledged system.
As to which one will stop first, PC's, consoles, phones and tablets will all blur together into a cloud backend, and all we'll have in our home are screens. Who will have the honor of being the last survivor serving the rural areas is anybodies guess.
the reason no one will bring out a new console is simple, nowadays , consoles are vastly different than back in the (s)nes or even n64 and ps1 times
back then consoles had their own unique fresh franchises and at best a few EA games were cross platform
but today its different , the big devs almost all release their games on all platforms , and todays console arent really anything than small prebuilt pcs with laptop hardware , if Apple joined in it would make no difference , even amazon wont make one , they would just have yet another console that plays battlefield , cod and co
and you could always ask "why not get a pc" and they had no arguements for their console
no matter what amazon tries to do , most of the current games are made on PCs , and made for PC hardware , if they make it with mobile hardware , hello OUYA2 , their only options are amd nvidia and maybe intel , and consoles always have to be cheap so the masses buy them , so the hardware wont even come close to pc hardware
even if amazon made some exclusive games , they wont be high quality blockbusters , those simply cost alot of money , and starting with basically no customer base , it would be very risky to spend millions on making games without even knowing if anyone will buy them
the console days simply are over ,nowadays the best solution simply is to get a pc or laptop for gaming , consoles limit what devs can do in their games , and today you just cant get a gpu doing the lastest resolution reliably for a cheap price
anyone else joining the console business would be very stupid
also about the thing OP said , nintendo already switched (pun not intended) over to only making handhelds or hybrids , i doubt we will see a proper console from nintendo again , microsoft will most likely stop making consoles as well , the xbox one was a flop ,and so was the kinect , MS simply doesnt get what gamers want these days
and sony , well , i bet they will just stop too at some point simply because once they are the only ones left , many devs will not bother making a console version of the game anymore since theres only 1 left
I own a PS4 Pro and a Nintendo Switch and the performance of the Switch is pathetic. But as a handheld and with great games I enjoy it.
A console peasent with over 1000 games on Steam, yeah must be the case. First assumption.
I don't use my monitor for my PS4 Pro, and not my Switch. I've a TV infront of my bed and tend to be in my bed and play these games. Second assumption.
I do play games with my gamepad aswell, why do you think I've mentioned the XBOX ONE controller? Third assumption.
If I was you, I wouldn't speculate so much. And no, it is not the same on PC. You're obviously not in the group of "hardworking casuals" or the group of "I don't care, I just want something to play gamers", I recommend reflecting the situation from a different view. It isn't easy but once you put these factors into your mind, you might realize that things might be MUCH different.
Of course it gets replaced. I never denied that and frankly I don't care. It is confirmed that the PS4 has reached the beginning of the end and everyone going insane about this, well, guess what? Next gen isn't far away, it's been 5 years since the release almost and the PS3 was active for 6 years. I'm sure you're able to do the math.
It depends on the game but in some cases you're able to go 1080p 60fps or 4k 30fps, Nioh was one case and I chose FPS over resolution.
Amazon seems more invested in the business of game streaming. Which is understandable given their AWS hardware backbone
Nintendo isn't that far of repeating Sega steps. They still have some franchises that basically print money (Pokemon, Zelda, Smash Bros) but they mean buying the bundled hardware. And developing, manufacturing and distributing that hardware is expensive.
If you make games, a bad game can doom you
If you make hardware, a bad hardware can doom you
If you make both any of them can.
so basically you say you arent a gamer , alright then
