What do you think of Red Dead Redemption 2?
Even though it's a console game, it's definitely one of the most beautiful and most immersive games I've ever seen. Or is it really beautiful? Some scenes look amazing while some look terrible. It's a console game which needs tricks and illusions to look beautiful while it actually looks bad. Foliage looks like it's made of plastic and it lacks variety, but let's just say it looks good. Anyway, what I don't like about it is that it doesn't even look so fun. Yes, there is so much you can do, but none of that seems interesting to me which could be because I'm not really a fan of simulators. It seems like a great way to experience life in that era, but the game itself looks repetitive and tedious.

I think that it's yet another overrated and overhyped game only because it's called "Red Dead Redemption" and is made by "Rockstar Games" which is most likely true, even if it's actually a good game. There's just nothing spectacular about it other than immersion. I don't understand why exactly is this supposed to be "the best game ever made" because it doesn't look so great in any way.

Hard to judge actual gameplay since it's a console only game, and has only auto-aiming bs instead of real shooting. Have to wait until it comes out on PC. Which based on the last game, may be never.

Snow effects look pretty awesome though.
Good game. It may come for PC a year later. If not then, a PS4, besides RDR it is about the campaign not multiplayer.
Also, there are plenty other games that may worth the purchase, like Death Stranding.

RDR 1 was like a good game but for the wrong console generation, that wasn't meant to be released on those consoles, long loading times, framedrops, washed out details, among other things.

RDR 2 doesn't seems to have a lot of these issues with the current gen of consoles, despite 30FPS lock.

I'm probably biased because the first Red Dead Redemption is my favorite game of all time, but if you enjoyed the first, I don't know why you wouldn't enjoy the new one. Obviously if you're not into westerns or that time period it won't appeal to you at all. It also really depends on how immersed in a world you want to be. There's a lot of little side things to do that a lot of people consider chores like bathing, shaving, bringing supplies to your camp etc. I don't mind because I love the immersion. Plus, none of it is things you HAVE to do, but it changes your gameplay experience whether you do or not. It has seriously got the most attention to detail of any game I've ever played. Disagree with me if you want, but I think they've set the new standard of what a game should strive to be. I wouldn't honestly be surprised if any other game this generation couldn't surpasses or even match the level of detail put in by Rockstar on this game. That's not to say games like The Last of Us 2 and Cyberpunk 2077 won't be amazing, but I think Rockstar set the bar with this one.

I will repeat the same thing I tell people every time they bring this up.

The reason you can't use RDR1 as a very good basis for if RDR2 will come to PC is because RDR1 never had multiplayer and more importantly "recurring payment opportunities" or how ever 2K worded what would be in "all their future games" after the overwhelming profits from GtaV and shark card sales. (plus, Red Dead Redemption was a follow-up of sorts to the far less known Red Dead Revolver, so I could see them being much more cautious in its release)

To put it simply, there's just too big of a sales return they would be missing out on if they didn't bring the game and the enviable multiplayer mode to PC.

It's possible that it won't be on pc ever, but the likelihood of getting ported to PC is more than 90%. It'll take a while, but it'll get here. It took GtaV 2 additional years before it got to PC, but it still did. Just give it some time to sell, get game of the year and other awards.

Red Dead Redemption did have multiplayer, it just wasn't as big of a deal as Grand Theft Auto Online was or Red Dead Online will be. I sunk so many hours into to the original RDR multiplayer.
I've been playing RDR2 nonstop for the past day on PS4(not pro) and it's amazing. I wanted to wait and see if it would come to PC, but that seems at least a year out if ever. I couldn't sit this out. It runs at 30fps at 1080 and looks good considering that, but first person view has a little too much motion blur and a narrow FOV to use it and that I'll save that option for when it comes to PC, almost like GTA V had the First Person launch with pc. 30fps is not enough for it. It will be something to both look forward to with added PC graphics options and most likely upgrades and also get under my skin that they'll get more money from me. Using keyboard and mouse will be a huge improvement. I can tell right now it'll be a 100+ hr game for me though.

I just found that you will be able to drive the trains this time around, so when (if) the PC version comes out for RDR2 I'm pretty much gonna get it, if only just for that. :train1::boxwagon::coach::coach::coach2:

But besides that trains though the gameplay footage and trailers I've seen thus far have been fairly promising and it defineitly looks like it was well worth the wait.

I haven't seen the whole story yet, but the intro is ridiculously long. What's a better way to start the game than a huge stretched out tutorial that locks you in a completely snow white environment?

I'm probably more excited to see how Rockstar screws up Multiplayer this time around.

woah, watch out guys, we got a mad lad over here.
I must not be an elite console player because the controls are annoying the hell out of me.

This game is amazing, I've gotten it on the 25th been playing at least 8 hours a day sometimes 12. Wish it came out on PC, I'm not much of a console player anymore.
