Video Gaming Disease/Disorder (seriously?)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tlMAL3n885g

So, I'd much rather be playing a multiplayer game with my brother or journeying somewhere or seeing and doing something fantastic instead of dealing with all the monotony of work, bullies, school, and just about every toxic thing under the sun that IS going to "impact me negatively".

I forgot who that one guy was, who was touting video game violence being a major contributor to society's problems, but I guess video game violence doesn't work as an argument anymore.

Edit: It was Jack Thompson, who was apparently fired from his job lol, go figure.

“You’re doing something that is not work? You’re sick!” - Every employer, probably

In the right context, I agree.

If you're playing video-games all day without eating, using the bathroom, or getting any sleep, then you have a mental disorder that needs to be fixed. If you're a person who works the 9-to-5 and wants to unwind for a few hours? You don't have a gaming disorder - you have a hobby.

Did you read the WHO Q&A on it? Or other sources of information? Because it's pretty much just gaming addiction with the 'addiction' swapped for 'disorder' to please people who aren't happy with the word 'addiction' being used.

So very seriously?, as addictions impact all sufferers of them seriously. It's why they're serious. And addictions.

Playing too much video games can impact your life negatively if poorly managed.

Can confirm from a few years ago.

By this logic I am a very twisted person.

Sick in the head, mostly. But they already know I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with the guys five minutes before my shift ends so it's all good.

Fortnite already fixed this issue via creating mobile gaming. Now kids can get outside and go to school while still gaming away. Problem solved!

Nah, this shiz is real, guy who made the video is a saaaalllttttyyyt boy Who didnt like what the moustachiod bloke was saying.

But c'mon, like how many of you here pee or poo yourself regularly so you can keep playing?..... what's that? None of you...as I thought.

Mumsnet got a hold of the term computer gaming addiction, and as usual made it a nonsense, easy to blame games when your just awful with your kids.

Anything you do can have a negative impact if you are not able to manage it.
School and work can have a negative impact on your life as well.
Certain teachers and/or certain doctors for example who are not able to do their work can have a negative impact on your life.
Your neighbour can have a negative impact on your life if he is an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Nintendo have a negative impact on your life expecially if you don't want to pay a subscription.
Subscriptions have a negative impact on your life at least if you are not a self harming masochistic person.
Everything and everyone should be destroyed immediately for our own safety.
But first of all Nintendo should be destroyed in the most painful way possible.
It's for our own safety and pain is the only thing they deserve.

Your a bit late on this topic.

I agree with Coffinmaw. I see video games as a hobby, I wouldn't spend my life on them. But I've seen people saying "Gaming is life", "Games saved me". What?

I just can't understand how some guys spend their days in front of a pc, gaming, (and therefore not having a job) and still expect to have a gf/wife by their side. Who would want that? In that case, yes I think these people have a gaming disorder.
Meh...a disorder? Bit like really? Questionable and slightly sad choice..... but a disorder? I ain't convinced...

People have died from playing video-games too much. Yes, they're shoehorning it as an excuse to advance their own agenda but the fact remains - some people have no control.

I agree with Aragorn.

Sorry. But the "new" disorder is pretty much right and if you play for 10-15 hours a day for months, you have a problem.

But being addicted to social media is also a real issue there, so I think "gaming" only isn't the only issue there.
