That's not what canon means.
That's really not what cannon means.
Canon is whether or not something is in continuity to the story. Whether or not it exists or is true within a fictional world. It has nothing to do with whether or not it's a main story or a side story. Both can be canon.
Whereas a cannon is a weapon, typically a large cylindrical tube that fires a projectile (often a ball).
Im not saying your information is wrong your correct . I think i may have gotten confused on side story vs spin off but i understan cannon and non cannon

All of it can be considered canon, yes. If it happens in the same universe and the creators decide that it "counts", it's canon. It doesn't matter if it's the main story, a side story, a spin-off, a sequel, prequel, or whatever.
Canon is the entire body of work within that universe.
