No and I'd advise everyone not to. Their travel package is meticulously choreographed to the point one cannot go explore as they don't want you to see the real NK and one would just help fund their regime.

Just because NK has a rollercoaster doesn't mean it's a nice country.

I don't think that's a good idea because you are always watched and you have to behave on their terms. There was 1 dude who was a tourist who got arrested for stealing some piece of paper and got 15 years of hard labor. I believe he is still in it now.

i saw it in a YouTube video, they woke you up at 6AM with army vehicles that plays banging-loud music on the streets. that music is probably the NK anthem, by the way.

I wouldn’t rule out doing it once the regime is toppled and the cadres are gone. It would probably take a generation or two before any kind of normal could be established.

There are package holidays to South Korea that include a walk over the border into North Korea. I think this might have been to observe a war memorial perhaps.

I was looking into holidays to South Korea a few months a go, so my memory is a little hazy. I would like to visit the South one day but a good package holiday is going to be a significant expense, at least from the UK.

I've only been to South Korea; I'd never travel to North Korea for obvious reasons.

I'm probably one of the few people who would actually like to travel to North Korea at some point just to see what its all about. I've talked to several people who have been to North Korea (and who took pictures and everything) and they've all stated that its actually very nice, and the media portrays it as far worse than it is. (as usual).

OP, can't you go to the DPRK through China? That's how most Americans go.
As in a Chinese travel package.
