Energy Drinks: Yes or No?
As the title states, are you for or against Energy Drinks?

Personally, I have been drinking them almost daily for at least the past three years, drinking them for at least the past six, and have noticed no effects on my health at all.

Many people hate Energy Drinks due to the amount of sugar, amount of caffeine and other ingredients they include in them. There are other reasons why people hate them, such as the deaths. Now, if you take a look at most reports of people dying from Energy Drinks, it is typically because they mixed it with alcoholic beverages, or drink a large quantity in a small amount of time. Me, personally, can take anywhere from 15 minutes up to a solid five or six hours drinking just the one regular 500ml Can.

There has recently been a "ban" / rule put in place in the UK where majority of supermarkets have now restricted sale of them to under 16s. Personally, whilst I can understand the frustration of high school kids not being able to buy them, I think this is a step in the right direction.

So, what's your thoughts on Energy Drinks? If you drink them, what is your favorite brand / flavor? My favorite brand is and always will be Monster, and my favorite flavor at the moment is Pipeline Punch / The Doctor, can't decide between them.

Against. Very against.

They're fundamentally unhealthy; they don't contribute anything to your diet, besides caffeine, sugar and fat. They also taste revolting.

I don't know whether it is good or bad, but Japanese rarely die from caffeine overdose, since we have drunk tea daily and we are almost immune to caffeine (depends on each own constitutions though).

You only Yolo once. What’s the point of being healthy when you can just as easily die in an accident and none of that matters?

I drink 1 monster a day expect the weekends when I am off.
As if pleasures of the pallet are all there is. Making healthy choices does pay dividends to life quality. A lot of people dont realize that.

Besides just have some coffee. Skip the sugar.

Yeah sex is cool and all but getting the shakes after 5 cans of monster is well worth

Only if you pick the bitter ones. There are plenty that have similar taste as other pop sodas so if one hates energy drinks you'd basically hate coca cola.

But I do drink energy drinks and it's basically because I like the taste of them. I will generally only pick the zero sugar ones. Unless there is a new taste.

Still I have at most 1 per day and when I've had like one 3 days in a row I'll lay off it for a while.
So far I feel nothing bad with my body.

That is super unhealthy. It's not about "yolo'ing", but you slowly ruin yourself with that stuff and later on you'll regret what you said.

Having 1 can a day isn't gonna wreck you. A colleague at work drinks 5 cups of coffee per day and the amount of caffeine he gets is either about the same or more.
But he's just fine.

Sure it might be less sugar but the caffeine in that amount probably have a bigger affect on the person than the sugar.

they should restric them to 18 years old and more (everywhere) ... kids should not be drinking that stuff (adult too but at least they supposed to be responsible)

They taste disgusting and are proven to be REALLY bad for you.
1 can of Red Bull has over 10 tea spoons of sugar.

In long terms it does.

Idk it has a personal reason aswell, I remember this guy in I'm class crying about energy drink and pays $6 for 2 cans daily...

I'm not saying I dont drink them at all, actually I do drink them and even in combination with alcohol. So I'm not talking it down but I'm not a friend of daily consuming.

It's the same amount of sugar you get in a can of coca cola or any other pop soda out there.
There is a version of monster that has half the regular amount of sugar too.

There are plenty of ones that are free of sugar too.

Also while you claim they taste bad there are plenty of people who don't drink coffee because it taste bad too. But I'm pretty sure you will like at least one of the Monster types.
Just trying 1 of the sugar free versions of the Monster brand. It isn't going to kill you.

I've asked my co workers before about coffee and all of them had to keep drinking it until they liked it. One keeps drinking it because the rest of the lunch gang do it.
I've tried normal coffee at some point but it was just bad.

Well that link brings up youngsters that bing drinks them with alcohol or other type of drugs.

Obviously it's going to be bad for you if you mix it with alcohol or the drug they mentioned which is made to relax people where as energy drinks have the opposite effect.

But 1 can a day isn't really any worse than 1 bottle of coca cola(or any other similar type of drink) of the same amount.

Also the guy in your class who pays $3 per can is stupid. What sort of drinks does he buy? Here they are priced half that price. Unless you go for the ones that cost $2 per can.

Hes buying them off the store, not some sort of supermarket. And it is monster energy, so the price is absolutely ridiculous. It wasnt only about alcohol too, I'm just saying that energy drinks aren't healthy in a very longterm. Same applies to cola like you said obviously.

I drink from time to time a 0,33l energy-drink. Only when I need to be quick awake when I'm tired.
I like the original taste of the energy-drink, the flawors taste for me strange.

I do NOT recommend energy-drinks in large amounts, also kids should not drink them.
🜂∴🜏 Cassie 22 OCT 2018 a las 9:06
I don’t recommend them as they’re way too high in sugar, so it’s not worth it.
L7vanmatre 22 OCT 2018 a las 9:17
I drank one, once. It wasn't even my choice to drink it to begin with.

I slowly felt more and more panicked once it started kicking in. Only thing in my mind after a while was saying "I need to get out of here."

I felt absolutely wretched.

Never again...
