Why is everyone in this forum so depressed and pessimistic?

Don't get me wrong, i don't expect anyone to be some happy, smiling man all the time of course, but i don't expect anyone to be so grumpy about so many things. Am i just too jolly or something?

PS: No offense to folks here who are diagnosed with clinical depression or something similiar to that

Ahh, that old catch 22, if your actually depressed, you ain't gonna have the motivation or energy to post on a random internet forum about it. Maybe on an actual mental health forum, but not on steam.

I doubt most people here are happy. I post here because I want my ideas to be challenged and it's good to get perspective from people who tend to not agree with you but most people aren't willing to have a discussion about anything. If they are they'll never argue the points you make and just brush it off so there's no point in it or so it seems.

oh of course, steam sells games, and attracts "we live in a society, gamers rise up" types of people as a side-effect

Depression is a disease, anyone who claims that it is not real is human scum or just too stupid. It is not just teens who suffer from depression, but also many 20-80 year olds. Everyone can get a depression.

It's always threads on offtopic like ''i need a girlfriend'' ''why can't i find love'' ''i'm depressed'' or stupid stuff about pineapple on pizza. and the weekly monthly favourite anime threads. Because the real world is bad and scary and no one there wants to help you or knows people that can off course.
