It really is sad how the arguably most modern, "advanced" nation at the time became so brainwashed and complicit in the crimes of the Third Reich. What is scary is how people believe we are so much smarter, so much more "woke" that something like the nazi regime could never happen again. I seriously doubt 70 years has changed humanity that much.

It was tatically worse than the MG34. It had a higher rate of fire, but that wasnt needed and it was not as good all around. I wouldnt call much Nazi equipment well engineered either.

You might be talking about the MG42. Still in service as the MG3 actually.

Sorry, I thought it was the MG 42. FG 42 seems to be actually pretty good.

Those are both SMGs. I'd like to see them have the same stopping power and accuracy as the FG-42.

No doubt very sweet guns but of a completely different class. I agree that as far as SMGs are concerned I would want a greasegun over anything else. As an all around multipurpose battlerifle goes though, the FG42 all the way.
