Can PS1/PS2 games look better on PS3?

I jailbroke my PS3 yesterday and I wanted to know if old games looked better on the PS3.

No. Expecially they look worse on HD tvs which are the standard for PS3. Even the official portings like God of war 2 look worse on PS3. At least I had God of war 2 and it looked worse, Ico and SOTC were not as bad probably because they used simpler models.

I use a monitor. Will it look just as bad as an HD TV?

It really all comes down on the optimization and settings on the emulator, not really the specs of technology as we have extremely powerful gaming machines compared to PS1 and PS2.

EDIT: Just realized you jailbroke the PS3. Is there a way to install PS2 OS on PS3? Just wondering.

Naw. I just have a copy of my PS2 game and an emulator on it.
From what I heard, it doesn't look bad.

From what I heard, it doesn't look bad.

I don't think a software emulator for PS3 can run PS2 games properly. PS3 is not powerful enough imo. The oldest PS3 models had specific hardware to run PS2 games. If you have an old PS3 like that you can run original PS2 games on it. I never tried personally but I guess it is fine enough probably.

The name of the emulator is ManaGunz. People say its pretty much compatible with all
PS2 games and most of the people that use it say they don't have problems with games either.

PS2 games can be bought in PS Store.
Jailbreaking and emulating is PIRACY!
EDIT: Example you can play GTA Vice City in PS3 or PS4 and game is PS2 game.

Monitor and HD TV is basicly same but only difference is Monitor has more refresh rate and not much input lag.

No. Vice city is not remastered and it can be played on PS3.
PS2 San Andreas can be played on PS4 too.

Have you tried or not to run them? Since you modded your own console why don't you try? I'm curious to see if a PS3 can run PS2 games with software emulation!

I tried 3 games. 2 out of 3 worked. The games were: A game collection with games like Joust and Marble Mayhem etc, then Tony Hawks Underground 2 and a PS1 game. THUG2 does run, but the screen is placed all the way to the right. But the other 2 looked and played fine.
