How do you argue with stupid people

I know the simple answer is don’t. Walk away and don’t look back. But I always have the urge to argue no matter what. I KNOW they are wrong and I have the urge to correct them. But they don’t care to listen to me and my points, which is kinda annoying to deal with. I should probably just learn how to walk away from a situation instead.

Sooo, what’s your experience with stupid people? People who are ignorance? People who are oblivious? People who denie countless years of research?

Edit: Most of you guys are saying to walk away and not bother with it which I know. It just the people who go around telling everyone something which is untrue.

Don’t bother arguing with stupid people. They’re either willfully ignorant or too stupid to understand logic.

The latter is pitiful. The former deserves every negative outcome that results from their stupidity.

Nah, it's rare that you'll argue with genuinely stupid people. Usually "stupid" people have no interest in discussing things at length, especially abstract concepts. Someone can be wrong, uninformed, biased or irrational but I think we're all a bit arrogant in assuming that people who disagree with us just don't have the capability to see the truth.

The best way to convince someone is to understand how they came to their conclusions and just how their mind works. For example, if you were trying to convince a hardcore Republican that environmental protection should be a priority, you could use the fact that many popular conservatives throughout American history have been fervent conservationists. If they are religious, you can quote the Bible which says that it is the duty of Man to be the custodian of nature.

And be aware of your own biases. It's likely the other person also thinks you're too stupid to understand their point. Sometimes, you may even have to separate yourself from your ego and admit you've overlooked a fact or allowed your feelings to get in the way.

You don't, your efforts are useless if they don't understand while they also don't bother in understanding and maybe learning because they think they're right, let the reality do the dirty job for you.
