That said I've never had one on my thigh before......
Don't get it infected though as the skin below is exposed.
If you're suffering from incredible pain or if the blister is filled with blood or pus, you'll have to visit your physician for ambulant treatment as ridiculous as it seems to be for you.
You can cover the blister with some soft tissue or a strap to damp it and in order to lower the friction and pressure, do not forget to change them regularely.
I'm not a physician, but sometimes I regret for not visiting one after getting one nasty blister.
Blisters are generally caused by dry skin and friction.
There's nothing to fear.
If they keep re-appearing, you need to find what's causing them to begin with.
edit: rusty pliers
^ This.
If the blister is small and not annoying you, let it be. It acts as it's own cream and bandaid, while new skins forms underneath.
If it's big and annoying... then you do rupture it. You will likely have to remove the top layer of skin, add some cream, then a bandaid to cover and protect it.
Consider replacing clothing and shoes, which created the blister in the first place. As blisters are formed from a lot of friction, normally from old/damaged clothing rubbing against it continuously. Or your shoes might be too small for you, etc.
