Dishonored 2 or Prey: Mooncrash?
I'm about to get one of these, but not sure which should I get first.

I want Dishonored 2 because I can't wait to play it and I know I'm going to love it.

I want Prey: Mooncrash because Prey is the best game I've ever played and the Mooncrash DLC is getting a multiplayer update soon and I don't want to miss that.

I'm posting here because this forum gets more attention and if I post on Dishonored 2 forums, people will obviously say Dishonored 2, same with Prey forums.

While I completely agree Prey is like "the best game" since I feel it is a true spiritual successor to System Shock 2... Mooncrash DLC is fun but fleeting. Maybe I'm biased due to my playstyle or experience with the game prior to the DLC but I was able to unlock all Chars in ~10 hours. Then I had most of the achievements unlocked by ~20 hours. At that point the game kinda got boring/reptitive since the overall varience wasn't that great, IMO. Plus if you faffed around with 1 crafting character, you could craft everything you'd need for the other characters and stash it somewhere easy for them to access. Then that new character can blitz for the stash and breeze through that run and so on. I mean, one run I just flat out made ~20 Time Loops to completely trivialize the "timer/difficulty" build-up. (Then again I play Rogue-likes a ton so I'm already used to that "rogue-lite" style gameplay and progression)

It's a DLC that is totally worth the price but I wasn't that impressed with it as a standalone experience. The new mechanics/items/skills were really cool and I liked the story concepts.

Dishonored 2 on the other hand is really fun and a much bigger/better experience when compared solely to Mooncrash. However, IMO, I found Dishonored to be quite boring and the Stealth aspect really easy if you decide to use Powers. I mean, the only way to find a challenge was to play without Powers, even then, once you get access to better Gear/item mods, it becomes fairly easy on Normal. 'Course I could be biased here as well due to playstyle. Overall I wasn't statisfied with Dishonored, I was happy I bought it on sale because I'd be angry if I paid full price lol.

TLDR: IMO, when it comes to a DLC vs a Full Game... I lean towards the Full Game since it will be bigger and different experience than DLC. You seem to think you are going to love Dishonored, so I'd snag Dishonored. If you are worried about missing out on MP with Prey... you could always hit up the Forums asking for Players. I've done that with a few games way after their MP became old and was pleasantly surprised a few people lurk and are willing to play.

Prey is a good game, but I honestly prefer dishonored due to it being more mindless fun just experimenting with the different powers.

Thanks for the reply. I'll still have to think about it. If multiplayer of Prey won't come out so soon then I'd rather make a break from Prey, get Dishonored 2 and beat it in all possible ways, get 100% achievements in it and then move onto Mooncrash.

Sure thing. That's a pretty good idea. I also should thank you since I had no idea there was going to be MP in Mooncrash lol.

Says at the bottom of the page. It should've come out at the end of Summer, but it's delayed and now we know that it will come out "by the end of the year", so there isn't an exact date yet. I'm really looking forward to it and don't want to miss the launch. I've already made a multiplayer group due to low playerbase since almost no one plays the game anymore, especially the DLC, so you can join if you wish:

https://steamcommunity.com/groups/TyphonHunter

Multiplayer groups are really helpful, I'm a member of one for BioShock 2 and there are people who play the game daily almost any time. I still need to get people to join lol, haven't really bothered posting on the forum YET
