Most of the time about 30 seconds.
In SWG however, my main character (played on a few servers but my favorite and main was on Naritus) I spent probably 20 minutes and got frequent comments from people who knew what I looked like IRL that my toon looked EXACTLY like me.
Probably the longest I spent on any character ever. Even Skyrim, unless you include a tattoo mod I downloaded and the only way to see what they looked like was to go through the menu after character creation and add/remove each frickin' one over and over. That took an hour, eventually just removed the mod, wasn't that interesting anyway.
