So i googled it says : a person who lives in, or is from, the US
Which is pretty normal.
But my usa friend said "dont say it because it is rude word."
So.. Should i avoid using it?

Dude, only Americans are allowed to use the Y word. Check your privilege mate.
It is a baseball team of ill repute.

It is same word like "♥♥♥♥" or " ♥♥♥♥♥" something? Seriously asking
It used to be some sort of insult back in the American Civil War, to insult the Northerners... While Yank includes the Southeners, also all Americans in total.

Honestly, it doesn't matter. It is completely outdated.
it's a old word, used until ww2 although then it already it has lost it's insulting abilities.

so it's not really offensive anymore for most people i believe.
Seriously though, I doubt anyone is really that offended by being called a “yankee”. In Swedish I mostly use the Swedish equivalent when talking about Americans because of a history teacher I had always using it.

I haven't even seen anyone use it outside of films, games or literature today. As you said, it was used a lot on early 20th century, but is almost non existent today.

Not to common anymore; Most people use the word when refering to the conflicts between the North and South before, during, and after the Civil War
Yankee is not but don't call us ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
Yes, it’s a very bad word. Ever heard of the New York Yankees? If you’re caught wearing their merch in public, you can be thrown into jail with a $100 fine.
I prefer the Cockney (insert overzealous Steam filter here) term for our American cousins... Septic Tanks (Yanks).

Wow it didn't get filtered, das a first !

Yankee in my country meants someone uses drugs,Stoling thing sfrom Market Shops etc
Venezuelan Spanish has the word pitiyanqui, derived c. 1940 around the oil industry from petty yankee or petit yanqui, a derogatory term for those who profess an exaggerated and often ridiculous admiration for anything from the United States.

In the late 19th century, the Japanese were called "the Yankees of the East" in praise of their industriousness and drive to modernization.

In Japan, the term Yankī has been used since the late 1970s to refer to a type of delinquent youth. In Finland, the word jenkki (yank) is sometimes used to refer to any US citizen, and Jenkkilä (Yankeeland) refers to the United States itself.

It is not considered offensive or anti-American, but rather a colloquial expression.
