Basically, everything can play on the default output, but only some programs offer a setting for the output device.

As such, you need to set your headphones as the default output (as most games probably don't have a setting), and choose a music player that offers a selection.

I use my phone. Just play music on Bluetooth off my phone and no computer tinkering necessary. Sometimes the easiest solution is the best solution.
