Ohh okay, on that note, i'd recommend the whole Half Life series, and Hitman series. I put hella hours into those. If you buy a game like The Witcher 3, or Elders Scrolls, you're pretty much entertained for life though.

Bathesda RPGs are good for that, even if they aren't very good from a technical standpoint.

The GTAs since III are also good for sinking away some hours.

Also try the Total War games.
Planet Coaster or Cities: Skylines are two of my favorites, especially in the more sandboxy modes where you gave more creative freedom. You might also want to check out a roguelike such as Immortal Redneck or The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth. Along the same lines, MOTHERGUNSHIP launches in about ten days and offers a rogue-lite campaign mode and an impressive weapon-crafting system, there's a 9-stage demo available for free on Steam right now.
Any game/modification of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series
DiRT Rally.
Assassins Creed Origins
Hmm, I'm not sure if an RPG franchise is what you are looking for, but if you're looking for some fantastic games that are lengthy, I gotta recommend the story-driven Trails Saga.

Apologies for the long post.

The Trails Saga is not only my favorite RPG series of all time, but also my favorite game franchise of all time. These games aren't for eveyone as they are very long games that are slow-paced and require a lot of reading, but they are also known as some of the best written games out there!

The Trails franchise is an 8+, and going on 9+, ongoing game saga where all the games take place on the same continent within a few years of each other. The Trails games have the best characters, world-building, and writing I have ever seen in a video game. As well as one of the most immersive and well-developed worlds.

They are slow-paced, text-heavy, story and character driven Turn-based RPGs with a strong focus on writing, lore, and world-building.

The first game in the series is Trails in the Sky (Sometimes called FC or First Chapter):

https://store.steampowered.com/app/251150/The_Legend_of_Heroes_Trails_in_the_Sky/

The next game in the series after that is Trails in the Sky SC (Which stands for Second Chapter):

*Store Page $29.99

*The reason I am linking Sky SC this way, instead of the way I linked Sky FC, is because the synopsis/description of this game contains spoilers for FC as it expects you to have played the previous game before looking into the sequel.

And after is Trails in the Sky the 3rd (Not called "Third Chapter" due to the nature of the game):

*Store Page $29.99

*The reason I am linking Sky the 3rd this way is because the synopsis/description of this game contains spoilers for FC and SC as it expects you to have played the previous games before looking into the sequel.

The next game in the series currently available on PC is Trails of Cold Steel:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/538680/The_Legend_of_Heroes_Trails_of_Cold_Steel/

The latest game in the series to be made available on PC is Trails of Cold Steel II:

*Store Page $39.99

*The reason I am linking Cold Steel II this way, instead of the way I linked Cold Steel I is because the synopsis/description of this game contains spoilers for CSI as it expects you to have played the previous game before looking into the sequel.

If I had to estimate how long on average (not doing all sidequests or talking to all the NPCs) each game takes to complete, I'd say:

FC: 40-60 hours
SC: 60-80 hours
the 3rd: 40-60 hours
CS I: 80-100 hours
CS II: 80-100 hours

You can start with either Trails in the Sky FC or Trails of Cold Steel, but you cannot start with SC, the 3rd, or CS II (Cold Steel II) since they assume you've played the previous game before them.

(As an aside, I'd recommend starting with FC, then playing SC, then the 3rd, then CS I, then CS II, though there are other possible play orders. I'd recommend reading the "Play Order" Section of the Guide I link below if you want to know more.)

If you wish to know more about Trails in the Sky FC, I wrote a spoiler-free FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) for it on its Steam Discussion Boards. You can check it out to see if it sounds like the game for you: http://steamcommunity.com/app/251150/discussions/0/1480982338965272722/

And if you wish to know more about Trails of Cold Steel, I also wrote a spoiler-free FAQ for that game on its Steam Discussion Boards (Where it is also pinned) so you can check this out to see if it sounds like game for you: http://steamcommunity.com/app/538680/discussions/0/2592234299559789411/

These FAQs are meant to inform newcommers as to "Everything they need to know" about these games.

If this series sounds like something you might be interested in, I also wrote a spoiler-free "Guide to the Trails Saga" that is meant to explain to newcommers what this series is, a little of its history, what games are in the series, and what the best play orders are. You can check it out here on Steam:

If you have any particular questions, though, feel free to ask! I would be happy to try and answer any questions about the series that I am able.

I'm not sure if this is what you were looking for or if it is something you might be interested in, but I hope you found this post helpful. Whether you choose to try out this series or not, I hope you are able to find the type of game you are looking for. And if you do decide to try out this series, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Happy Gaming! :)
