I would say Protonmail, they're based out of the CERN Institute in Switzerland. It's a free service, with end-to-end encryption. And because they're in Switzerland, you're protected by the strong internet privacy laws on Earth. Nobody gets to see your data but you.

Gmail is horribly insecure. It's been revealed recently that some Google staff are freely viewing user's emails. To say nothing of the fact Google allows advertising companies to scan your emails for keywords.

I mostly use it to sign up for stuff that I don't really care about, so my Protonmail doesn't get cluttered with pointless emails.

To have the extended feature of protonmail, you have to pay for such.

I prefer that provider since Google is not very trusted at all.
