What is with all these stupid anime games?
Always anime girls with big boobs and red faces all in some kind of sexual fashion. What kind of nerd would play this lol.

Good question...
Better question is,

Who in their right mind would pay for softcore porn?
You might not like it, but 2d women are peak performance.
Every heard the expression "sex sells"? Because it's completely true.

Games like this sell very well, and are full allowable on Steam. Devs like Nekosoft are some of the most profitable Indie studios because of it. And you inevitbly get a flood of similar games as other devs try to cash in one that market.

It's capitalism in action, no more no less.

You'd be surprised. You'd also be surprised how many people are willing to pay for hard core porn.

We're all nerds here, darling. If you're not, I fear you may be at the wrong teaparty :)

Not like there's anything wrong with being a nerd...

You must've missed Steam's massive crusade agaist those games and their hasty retreat after some massive outcry from those that actually play those games(quite a lot of people apparently).
That happened like 3 weeks ago I believe.
I don't own a single visual novel myself but my friend activity feed (as well as the general steam discussions) were flooded with that topic.

Here, have a history lesson and check this thread:

It wasn't Steam's crusade. Some organisation from the US (NCOSE) which is actually a different name for one called "Morality in Media" (MiM) falsely reported numerous anime games for pornography and pressured Valve into removing them from the store. Since not everyone in Valve is happy with visual novels and the like being sold on Steam, they sent what's basically a threat e-mail to the associated game devs to either further censor the games in question, or be booted from the store. The fans reacted rapidly, and the decision was rewoked, at least for now.

The problem was, Valve just listened to someone complain, by some sort of organisation targeting? "Dirty places" and steam is between that.

Valve decided it was bad suddenly. No communication. Nothing. Developers were concerned and lives are depending aswell, some make a living with those games.

Jim Sterling did a video about that .. pretty good actually.
