Google Translate is bad
So a character in a game said the word "pilgrim" wich i didn't knew what it meant so i translated it. And it translated it to "Hacı", wich is basically a Muslim version of a priest. And i misused the word pilgrim thanks to Google Translate. And when i googled the word pilgrim on Google images and guess what? Pilgrim was ridiculiously unrelated to what Google Translate said! Bloody hell!

If you want to know what a word means, you look for the definition of the word. Translating it is an extra and uneeded step to find out what a word means.

The best way to learn a language is to put yourself in the culture, and avoide speaking languages you're comfortable with. Although this is hard in eroupe as they all want to practise england on you.

Take it with grain of salt.
I have to confess that I am using translate 4-9 times in the week to communicate on Steam.
Use the desktop version (not the mobile version).
Write simple texts, it becomes messy with much texts.
Double check, I am going to translate medisin (medicine on English) it can have many word in other languages it can turn to drugs=narcotics.
Still I have learned many words with Google Translate.

Du kan alltid spørre noen (det er her på Steam eller "i det virkelige livet"), for å hjelpe deg å lære å snakke engelsk mer flytende uten å stole på Google-oversettelsen så mye.

It depends on the stuff you are trying to translate, sometimes its way off base other times its understandable even accurate.

I always use translate to read something, but reply in english when trying to help. I think google translate is fine when trying to read something, i usually understand what someone is asking for, but not so much when trying to reply to something.

Once dissed Google Translate while (unknowingly) having a family member of the person who made it across the table from me. Trust me. Keep comments to yourself.

You can suggest corrections to it here: words, phrases, tone, idioms, and even slang.

(or)

On the Google Translate itself, after searching the word, there's sometimes a "Show More" and Feedback button option available. Click those. The feedback lets you suggest if it's helpful, wrong, or offensive.

One of my favourite things to do when I'm bored:
1. Enter a paragraph of text into Google Translate
2. Translate it to a bunch of different languages
3. Translate it back to English
4. Profit.
