Seconding this. Although its more space western as opposed to sci-fi steampunk.
It starts out kinda corny (like first two episodes come off kind of teeny bopper style making you think retarded drama is coming but that goes away by like 5th episode) . Then becomes really good, but then becomes kinda flaky and all over the place in season 3 and 4 and now it's getting interesting again.
It's a sci fi post apocalypse but it's kind of a mash up of genres because of how much changes and what happens in the show. For like a season it seemed they were trying to do game of thrones crap but now that seems to be gone as they kind of restarted it with the new season back to its sci fi roots.
It's not steam punk though
The Expanse
Somehow didnt click for me, the original is lot better.
Oh, the entirety of the Star Trek series is also awesome, except for maybe the Original Series for its age, and the first season of The Next Generation.
