Cigar smoking?
Got a JFR cigar as a gift and I've never smoked one before, is it worth a first time try?
Or should i just toss it in the trash?

No. Each cigar has chance of giving you cancer. Are you willing to risk it?
Cigars can be enjoyable but if you dont smoke anything you are unlikely to enjoy it. If you dont partake in nictotine products of somekind I would recommend only smoking a very small ammount and making sure to not actually inhale or hold in the smoke other wise your world will literally spin. Im no cigar affacianado but if that is a high quality cigar youll want to cut it right and lit off something proper like a match and not a zippo or a bic to get the best out of it.

If you are really interested Id recommend finding your local smokers shop they will help you enjoy it properly and will probably be happy to do so.

Going out in the sun can also give you cancer, so can a million other things. Smoking one cigar would be very unlikely to do anything to a healthy person. Unless of course they actually like it, get addicted and then get mouth cancer after chain smoking them for years.

People saying one cigarette won't harm you aren't quite right. Each individual cigarette has a tiny chance of causing DNA damage that might turn into fatal cancer. If it's only one cigarette in your entire lifetime, the risk isn't worth worrying about, but there is still technically a tiny risk.
Toss the ♥♥♥♥ right into the trash.
Well, you can put it somewhere as decoration.
Cigars are usually much stronger then your average cigarettes. Just throw it away.
Trash. Or returning it with a respectful explanation that you do not want to smoke, but beware that they might try to pressure you into it, depending on what kind of person they are. If they are someone special to you, however, you could put it in a small display case as a sentimental decoration.

You're going to die eventually, may as well smoke the damn thing.

Of course, the better option would be to replace the Tobacco with cannabis. :steamhappy:

Death isn't the problem so much as the quality of life afterwards is.

Quality of life after death?
I kid, I kid.

I mean, he's free to do what he wants to with it, including throwing it away, but I would smoke it if it were given to me. I've never actually had a real cigar, though, so maybe I'll have to try one some day.

It'd be a shame if he never smoked to avoid cancer and still ended up with something like pancreatic or prostate cancer.

And everything in your life gets more difficult due to your lungs absorbing less oxygen. Plus you'll have an odor, and you're a LOT more likely to be judged by it in this day and age.

All for highly temporary relief, if that (some people I know don't get relieved sometimes when smoking).

That's true. Personally I'm not even concerned with the death or the cancer but as someone who has loved ones who smoke, there's so many non-cancer-related downs and very few ups.

It's just there so tobacco companies can earn money. Nothing else. Like that "truth" video with all those old memes that a lot of people hate, it was intentionally there to make anti-smoking look bad with the young people. (Tobacco companies had to make anti-smoking commercials as a court settlement)
