Why is Roblox getting so much hate?

I know the community is bad and all, but aside from that, the game is quite well made, and can be used to learn programming, or make profit from your roblox creations.

probably, because according to people, when kids start playing a game, it instantly gets bad.

i played in 2008-2012, and it progressively got worse. not due to my changing interests, but the developers changing things, for the worse.

so for one, devs made it worse

for two, it became a lot more popular, which attracted more annoying people

youtubers were part of that swarm, and the youtubers brought a bunch of 7-8 year olds.

and finally, kids do make games worse. it's not their fault though, it's just that kids in general are annoying when they're young.

I would know, I was a kid once.

i joined in that era too, and i agree that the community was better.

Kids were a bit better back in the days when parents could beat them for being loud and annoying.
Now, they have no sense of respect for quiet.

Of course Roblox is a kids game. It looks like a cheap rip off of a Lego game. One of those "has science gone too far" scenarios.

Well for one their recent update made performance for everyone abysmal

Then there's how they shut down the forums due to their own lack of competency in moderation

And how most of the games on there are either ripoffs or just obscenely, horribly overrated and is directed almost completely to prey on kids' money

Yes there are some diamonds in the rough in roblox, so i say it's only right to hate on the community if you're talking about the majority of it who play stuff like meepcity or prison life (like jesus why do people even like these games)

It comes down to a cringe factor.

Lets say a 21 year old comes along and cringes on a kid's video game, spends time digging it up, perhaps even downloads videos and attempting to share "cringe comps" of prolonged copies, create some cringey memes about it, or goes off to harass the kids who play it, even perhaps while playing it themselves.

"Cringe" is merely a codeword.

A logical person doesn't go out their way seeking what they hate to spend additional time upon. That would be stupid, cringey, and a waste of time/effort on their behalf. Rather it's a secret love/hate relationship towards it. They love it, but can't be caught out by others who also secretly love it. So they pretend together that they hate it.
