I need an MMO like Runescape.
Hi guys,

I need to find an MMO like Runescape. I just want to find an MMO with skill based progression, that isn't too serious. I like the fantasy enviroment where you can craft your own armor, farm materials and go kill bosses. I like an MMO where I can wear anything and change my class on a whim. And I like that old dungeon synth music as well.

What can you recommend? I tried Project Gorgon, wow, Rift, Archage, didn't like any of those.

Maybe the legendary World of Warcraft?

Have a re-read mate, like I said I tried wow and didn't like it. Not even close to the aesthetic and feel of Runescape. Thanks for replying to me though. I want that old medieval/fantasy vibe again.

Cant recomend POE (path of exile) enough... allthough its not really an MMO more like server base RPG.

I gave all of those except for GW2 a go, didn't stick. I played ESO for about an hour again the other night and just uninstalled it, couldn't get into it.

I want that DnD vibe with dragons, ghosts and dungeon synth music. I don't think there is much to choose from out there, unless there is an underground clone that I might be missing?

Albion Online has pretty much everything you've said. But it's more PvP focused compared to PvE, still has some form of dungeon I believe.

Thanks mate I'm trying a 7 day trial of it right now (server is down for maintenance). Hopefully it is what I am looking for, looks pretty good right now though.

I'd actually suggest at looking at some of the more popular "runescape clones", there's a bizzare thing where each country has its own most popular one and those usually are even better because they don't try to extort you out of your money as much, and not waste as much of your time on skill grinding, two reasons why I didn't like the real runescape so much, I read on a wiki that it would take over two days to max out a skill if you were continuosly doing it without any breaks, yeah, getting even the mid tier stuff took a huge grind, while a clone let you level to 60 rather fast and then still keep a reasonable amount of exp to reach the cap.

The thing with the clones, much like actual clones is that they are rather fleeting, so you may have one close down after as little as nine months.

Can you recommend one?

EMPS-Scape was my jam, but it closed down quite a while ago, I heard rumors of it coming back, but I cannot vouch for the state it will be in compared to the original.

Dark Age of Camelot: Endless Conquest, maybe?

WAKFU
It has allt he things you wanted
Skill progression yes, your friends can help u lvl up if you want
You can craft own armor, weps gear, etc
Or can get from enemies, anyway
Farm materials YUP
Kill bosses? Yup, dungeons, and area bosses
Change class on a whim? Well, you can change what kind of playstyle you have, like for example, you can be tanky, or damaging, healing supporting, etc, but you cant change your class
*i mean, you can change class, like you have 5 free character slots which you can use

I have found one more that is like Runescape, It's called Arcfall, it is free to play but it is also in Early Access, has mixed reviews, though I see both negatives and positives in the top reviews. Aside from all of that it's free so it wouldn't hurt to give it a try.
