Looking for an rpg that I can grind in
I'm not looking for something story heavy, though story is a bonus
What I want is an rpg im able to go into, and kill, find/craft better loot, and kill some more, for a long period of time, something relatively mindless to do while I listen to podcasts

roguelikes are close to what I want in terms of gameplay, but I never liked the permadeath and random 'this isn't finishable because of bad drops on the upper levels' gameplay they usually add, and I played dredmor into the ground.

anyone know some rpgs I may like/should look into?

Free, but you can buy stuff (im free to play ofc) and, its got story, but you dont have to do the story, except the tutorial which is like 30 mins. Infact, if you join, i might be able to give you tips and stuff

I really, really hate to say this... but what about WoW ?

I havent played it in about 8 odd years but I enjoyed solo grinding during the week and spent my w'ends PVP'ing, until rushing in AV became a thing and the PVP rank/ladder was abolished.

Diablo 2 is still around, thats about the biggest grindy, craft fest that ever was.

I played everquest for so long that my view on mmos is forever tainted by it, I would be able to go through wow

diablo 2 got played so far into the ground that I dont find it fun going back into anymore because there is very little I could possibly do to have better gear then when I was actively playing it.

minecraft, sure, I keep looking at minecraft like games just because I want that 3d terraria, or an rpg that is mincraft in looks but two worlds 2 in magic system,

how would you describe wafku? what games is it most like?

the Disgaea games are ones I have played into the dirt, I have a few of them mostly so I can replay them when I get the craving to do so again, but grinding out 11 or so hours for one piece of gear, then re doing it for each piece of gear, and then doing that 4 times per character... that just isn't happening again.

Path of Exile

These have seperate maps to grind to your bones.
Allso Borderlands series are kinda grindy whit guns and level. but is fun with a friend due to the fact you need one if you dont want to restart in nearest checkpoint after you died.
Rumpelcrutchskin Jun 23, 2018 @ 2:19am
Diablo III, plenty to grind there with all the different classes and builds.

I find it really hard to call diablo 3 an rpg, sure it looks like an rpg, but character wise you make no decisions throughout the game character wise, you have very limited attacks, and you are pretty much exclusively using set items, unless something massive changed they stripped much of what made diablo 2 great out,

231 hours in path of exile, im a bit stuck unless I buy weapons and armor, which I don't want to do, im waiting on a friend to come in to really get grinding in that game, and torchlight 2, may be fun to revisit but played it into the ground.

as for borderlands, the first one there is only so much you can farm Crawmerax The Invincible and still have the game be fun, and borderlands 2 screwed with the way enemies and weapons scale to the point that the high end is not fun to play.

It kind of looks like a grid based strategy game,
