any linear single player games to try?

im just getting tired of the same Open World games. now i have played some open world games like TES and Fallout but they dont really hold my attention for long i mean after like 10 hours of playing of Morrowind, oblivion and skyrim i just think "I dont really want to play this anymore."

and im the type who wants a game with 10-20 hour playtime with fun gameplay and cool colllectables to collect and intresting characters with likable personalitys and a straght foward path rather than spend 100 hours doing the same thing over and over so any linear single player games to try? also im wiling to play it on any thing like pc and ps4 (no im not a console peasent as i play both pc and console).

What genre are you looking for; RPG, FPS?

Spec Ops; The LIne is a great linear FPS of about that length. That would be a nice place to start.

Finding anything linear is hard these days. True linear games went extinct years ago, the only hangers on are either back-issues of older games or Indie games built on old ideas. Even somewhat linear modern games like Grim Dawn are still very open-ended with enormous "corridors" to funnel the player through.

And that length of play is also problematic, since most games pride themselves on length. It's a major selling point, some RPGs have over 100 hours of length.

well i like JRPGs like my favorites are Paper Mario (1 and 2) and EarthBound i might try tales of symthonia out

Just read what you wrote. I would heavily recommend playing the Devil May Cry series.
They're (almost) all action games with classic, memorable characters and moments.
Dante (the guy you play as) gets to pick up and use some sweet weapons to style with,
and to use against even more types of demons that should all vary from one another.

That, and perhaps the "Legacy of Kain" series if you're looking for something really different.
Now THAT'S a Shakespearean series.
