I raved in L.A from around 98-2001 (Fox / Masterdome era) and heard my share of it. Hardcore, Gabber, etc. Force and Styles were huge. I was more “Junglist” though, and mostly heard these beats while passing the Norditrack Asian dancers and E-Puddles of candy kids all rubbing each other lol.

Nowadays if I listen to EDM it’s old Techstep D&B like Ed Rush style circa 96ish. I don’t smoke anymore so the ragga just doesn’t appeal as much as it once did.
