It's the most thoroughly cooked way of having steak. Where as rare is the least thoroughly cooked way of having steak. The problem people have with well done steaks is because the meat is often very tough to chew and very dry. It also has a lack of flavor too.
I like my steak well done. I refuse to eat any meat that isn't cooked well done.
