Why is the Switch even a little bit successful ?

I mean it doesn't make any sense

-Most of the games on it are ports of Wii U games
why not buy a Wii U then? It's much cheaper and you don't have to pay to play online

-Other games are available on superior platforms which leads to the "Yeah but it's portable" argument
Yeah it's portable... so are tablet PCs and laptops?! Did you forget about these?!

-Really expensive for what it is
For the price of a Switch I can get a PS4 with a game
For the price of a Switch with a game I can get a PS4 Pro!

-But it has exclusives!
3 exclusives... Splatoon 2, Mario Odyssey and this year Bayonetta 3
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has exclusive content, that doesn't make it a game only available on the Switch. Breath of the Wild is available on the Wii U and the Hyrule Warriors port is the same thing, exclusive content and that's it.

If there are other arguments in favor of the Switch, please, tell me. But I really can't understand why people are buying this sh*t

The Switch is far more portable than even the lightest of gaming laptops, and while true Switch exclusives aren’t many yet, what we have here is enough (don’t forget the likes of Xenoblade 2), and there will be more to bolster its lineup soon. Its innovative design also won a sizable crowd.

It’s also worth mentioning that Wii U flopped in a major way, and will have relatively little influence with potential Switch adopters. Tablet PCs are also exceedingly weak for gaming, and trying to run high-profile games on them tend to end in disaster.

But the point isn't to run them at max, it's to run them.
Because let's face it, Doom on the Switch looks aweful

I originally bought the Switch for three games--The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Fire Emblem Warriors, and Metroid Prime 4 (which isn't out yet). Then I found out that Sonic Forces was a 3D Sonic game that didn't suck, so I bought that too, because my PC is way under-spec.

People buy it because people like to have the newest stuff. Doesn't matter if it's utter ♥♥♥♥, if it's new they want it. That's the exact same reason as to why people buy the same ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Apple pushes out, because it's new.

Another reason would be because it's pretty innovative. You can detatch the joycons (I think?) and do stuff with them. You can also play while you travel, and it'll be easier to play with the Switch than with a laptop's trackpad.

The exclusives are also pretty good. I don't get the deal with Zelda, though. I think it's a pretty overrated game, but whatever. Not sure about the other consoles or Steam, but a remaster of Dark Souls is going to come out for the Switch, as well as other games, like PAYDAY 2.

Because Nintendo actually advertised the thing properly, unlike the WiiU which was under-advertised and had people convinced it was just a Wii addon.

Also exclusives. While BOTW is on the WiiU, its advertising made it out it to be a Switch exclusive, or at least better played on the Switch.

MS actualy worked with linx to make that dock and the dock only works with that tablet, why on earth MS don't make such a dock for the surface boggles the mind.
