(Please Lock) Why do talentless rap musicians get popular?
I was wondering why imbecils like this,
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=19kVq4Spk-Y

this,
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qku2WZ7aRYw

and this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xjUiFeDKo_0

even get remotely popular? What is the substance? Where is any sort of talent whatsoever being shown? Why?

I understand some rap and hip-hop artists are talented, music is an art, a form of expression, but you have to draw the line somewhere. These people make money off this, they make more than people who study 6-10 years in law or medical schools. What the ♥♥♥♥ has this world come to.

Basically sums up my view on the subject.

They got their rep up. Trap music is popular, and SoundCloud helps them get more rep than they deserve. Not all of us know a thing about hip hop.

If you don't like a singer doesn't mean others are stupid for enjoying listening to that singer. We don't all have to like what you like and see 'talent' as you see it. People have different tastes and opinions. We aren't all the same. Some people just aren't so serious when it comes to music so they don't stop and say what is this? They just enjoy it and move on.

Indeed. Still, there has to be more talent than repeating 'Gucci Gang' and 'Call me what you like but don't call me unpopular', or 'This is Team 10 ####, who the #### are flipping you?'.

Indeed. Money makes them mumble more, and possibly go 'Where the girls at?'

I'll stop you right there, they are not singers. They could not make their voice sound good if their life depended on it. I don't dislike rap, I dislike rappers such as shown above. Ones with little to no talent and specialize in profound mumbling and nonsensical lyrics with a generic garageband 'beat' in the background, and make money out of it. I refuse to enjoy this. The concept of one enjoying it is perplexing to say the least.

Well true, I agree. Doesn't mean he should call others stupid for listening to something he finds talentless.

Since you're getting roused up over my generalized and borderline satirical statement, I'll change it; just for you.

Rap is just the "First person shooters" of music.

Disrespectful, greedy, and murderous.

You cringe at these teenagers music? I cringe at call of doodie kids t-bagging each other.

The rappers got the over priced gold teeth, The FPS got the over priced gold skin

And some became popular until the kids got in.

I agree with half of the statement, in that, not all rap artists are bad. I do not listen to rap very often, nor desire too, but some artists aren't half bad, and actually put thought and meaning into the lyrics, or do something new with how it is presented. I cannot say the same for the people just shown though.

Thank you 😹 See, better now. Yoh can criticize without the need to call others stupid. I agree with the rest of what you said.

Is it not, more of a reflection of the people rather than the music.
