Why Do Kids Like Edgy Things?
Just why?
Escrito originalmente por 36564176:
i had an edgy stage when i was 14, but that's when i became "friends" with 2 guys and i guess my brain tried to keep the "friendship" now i realize what a fool i was and how that person doesn't deserve to be called a friend. "friend" a is the bad one, friend b is the better one. its funny how once i stopped being edgy and friend b moved a couple states away friend a has no personality at all and only likes to look at dull repetitive memes on his phone. tried to talk to him about stuff, he didn't listen. i pointed that out, didn't care/listen. i texted him just saying "i dont wanna be friends" and the next day he's completely silent, doesnt question the text at all, he took it seriously like there was little value in this false friendship.

I myself love hilariously edgy things.

Like Metal Gear Rising, or Shadow the Hedgehog, or Devil May Cry. I don't see any issues here. If I took those games seriously, then that would be a problem.

what i meant by edgy was "Stalin did 9/11" or something. That's the other type of edgy

Oh that... Well, I don't know, I don't see any appeal to it. It's not even dark humor.

because adolescence is a time when people push boundaries, trying to find out who they are are and how to interact with the world as adults. some desperately crave attention and want to stand out from their peers, so you get some who will try to be the best student or athlete they can be while others try to skirt the borders of acceptable social behavior because they don't have a better outlet for self-expression or sometimes they are acting out from some trauma, either real or perceived.

basically, growing pains. everyone does cringy ♥♥♥♥ when they're young.
That's actually a pretty perfect answer there, op!
Some kids don't know how to behave themselves, and the internet encourages them to misbehave.

I'm not even joking, he's the only reason I'll buy Forces when I get a new computer and it goes on sale. Nothing else interests me about the game.
