Is an extra 300Mbps worth another $20?
I have 100Mbps right now and my ISP let me know I can get 400Mbps for an extra $20 a month. I do download and stream video a lot but it seems fast enough. Also, I don't have a problem with online gaming. So what would the extra 300Mbps do? Would I see an improvement for gaming? Is it worth it?

Thing is, depending on the service it could be considered to be overkill as several services have a maximum download speed cap.

If you can do all that without any problem, better save that 20$ I guess. I dont know much about internet but it would be a waste of money if you don't have any issues currently. Tbh I pay 15$ for my internet, it isnt any great but I can play without lag, browse, watch videos lmao thats enough for me.

Improvement in gaming?.. No. If you already have 100Mbps then it's just latency that can make an improvement for gaming.
It depends on how many people are using your network. Streaming, downloading/uploading media files etc. If you never find yourself maxing out the speed then there's really not any point in upgrading.

Depends. If you have half a dozen people online at once and/or regularly shift terabytes of data, yes. Otherwise, 100-200Mbps will be more than enough.

In the summer, I upgraded my connection from 150Mbps to 300Mbps for an extra $15 or so. I haven't noticed any improvement in gaming, but overall the experience has improved dramatically. Mainly, I never have videos on any streaming website buffering, games on Steam download extremely fast, and in the morning when I open my web browser with 50+ tabs open, the whole thing loads up almost instantly.

Is it worth it? Really depends on how and what for you use your connection.

Depends on the original price and what your needs are.

he lives in the USA so the original price is probably 3-5 times that amount.
(not counting television bundles and all that)

Thats $240 a year, unless you plan on having people move in with you i wouldnt get it. 100mbps is good enough to support 4-5 people using it at once.

Depends on what you do with your internet, if you download large files frequently like me, or maybe use a game streaming service, etc... I have 125Mbs at $70 per month, I feel it is good for now, until games get to being 150GB on average lol, so no, not worth it, and you definitely won't see an improvement in online gaming.
