Why are PC players so mean to console players?

I play both PC and console.

I don't see why there's this stupid controversy over "PC master race" and stuff. I don't understand why PC players are so mean to console players simply because they play a different platform. For one thing, good luck finding hackers and framerate lag on console.

Seriously, there's nothing wrong with being a "console pleb" if that's what you want to call it.

You're missing the bigger picture in this situation. It's that most people want to play games like Battlefield 1 or Grand Theft Auto 5, or even games like Fallout 4. And to run these three games you'd need more of a High to mid range PC. to run these games in 60FPS you'd need a high range build. And if the PC is cheap as you'd say then it would have trouble running a single monitor, let alone duel or even triple monitor.

Oh and I've come back to correct you on free games as Playstation, Xbox and I think even Nintendo has free games on their markets. Some of which don't require an active subscription to play as long as they have a singleplayer option. Digital sales on consoles have also been in the up and up lately which has lead to a much bigger support in their digital markets, as they have weekly sales now and large sale events on their respectful marketplaces. I've bought Dead Rising 3 and Until Dawn both for less than 10 dollars, the last event they had on the Xbox Marketplace also saw games like Dark Souls 3 + all DLC going for 20 dollars.

Now for multitasking PC will always come out at the top compared to console, but Laptop has PC beat in the land of multitasking. I have never been on my PC all while in a McDonalds, writing, drinking coffee and studying for a test all at the same time.

The sad reality in all of this is that the majority of PC gamers actually have potato computers which can barely run any games other than Minecraft, Terraria, LoL and Team Fortress 2. They likely could barely even reach 60fps on the above mentioned games with their builds. But I do give them props for playing.

2 GB minimum , so if you have a 2-4 GB card youre fine , consoles cant run any of these games at 60 fps


and PC and Laptop are the same , i dont count them as different things since they both are Computers

PC - runs programs, can be used for games, watching movies, listening to music, editing/creating multimedia, online shopping, learning, reading articles, taking an online course, writing a blog or something like that, customizing PC and overclocking, storing photos, etc...
consoles - you can just play games, wow

But my gripe with them is.

1: They accepted the 30 FPS and then defends any game that has 30 FPS. Rather than trying to get the Developer to improve the game. What do you got to lose? No it's not impossible to make a game run in 60 FPS.

2: Loves to use the "You should be happy you even got it" when we get a bad port. Rather than trying to get the Developers to improve it.

3: Insist a gamepad is the best for everything. Then the moment a game has poor support for mouse and keyboard even though it could play perfectly fine with it they actively attack you for wanting support for Mouse and keyboard.

Console players have dragged down the quality of the games because they are more okay with lower quality and developers picked up on this as well.

I may be able to agree with you on most of your statements, but I cannot agree with you on blaming console players for dragging the quality of games down. The quality of games is always put on the quality of the developer and the deadline the publisher forces onto the developer. Things get bad when they get close to a deadline and the game is only 40% done, this is when they start cutting content and writing code/story as quickly as possible. When is the cause for many bugs and problems. Some bugs caused by rushing a release are nearly impossible to patch as well. Fallout New Vegas is a clear example of this. And for lack of support also in the console community, you can pull up Call of Duty WW2 and see that it has a 2 star rating on Xbox One, the community isn't about that new Call of Duty, they may have purchased the game supporting the developer, but they are still awake in a sense that they do not support being swindled with lack of content and emotion put into the creation of a game.

Now if I were to bring up an oversaturated video game market with very little content control then my fingers would be pointed to the current state of the Steam marketplace. The idea of opening the market to anyone with a hundred dollars was a controversial choice, this has flooded the market with many, many.... Many games, some games I wouldn't even call a game. Though I understand that they don't rack up very many sales from these releases, unless there's some kind of meme or Youtuber/Streamer backing the "game" released.

It isn't a bait. PC elitist can be quite toxic but there are also a lot of console gamers that are equally toxic. So far people are having quite the normal discussion going on. No one fell for anything.

You probably assume anyone who make a negative thread about a game is a bait as well but it isn't. People can dislike stuff and share their opinion.

Pretty sure 99% of people saying pc master race are joking. At least I am.

I mean, pc is obviously superior, but i don't hate people who do not acknowledge that. :P

I don't think we are 'mean' like you say we are. I think we show our feelings more when a 'console fanboy' is talking trash about PC gaming.You know the people that don't know what they are on about, stright up lie or twist facts to make consoles better.

I noticed a handful of commenters in this thread mentioning framerate, and I have to say, sure, 60fps is generally smoother than 30fps, but the difference may or may not be noticeable depending on what games one plays. As a result of the games I play, I'm not the type of person who particularly cares to pot-bang about 60 fps or bust. Some people here on the Steam forums have criticized me for this before, but frankly, I don't have much of a personal stake in this fight.

2. Given that a number of games I want to play are still not (officially) available on PC (yet I'd like them to be), and also given my own personality, I prefer a relatively gentle approach, giving thanks and polite but firm criticism. I'm more likely to stand on the side of "being happy I even got it", but that doesn't mean I'm necessarily going to buy it on release -- generally speaking I do wait for the dust to settle, and there's actually only one company I know currently that I'd trust to buy on release.

3. I'm the opposite of this; I insist keyboard is best for everything -- even platformers. For me, at least. I like having multiple fingers to do things.

Okay, except for games that use analog stick controls. Keyboard is bad at that.

It started as a joke and in fact it started as a way to make fun of people who DID think that PC was so overwhelmingly better and felt the need to lord it over others.

Then people started using it as a proud label, "unironically", for...thinking that PC is so overwhelmingly better and lording it over others.

Can you play GTA v on PC without running into cheaters no lol yes, you can play with mods on console games, I do it with skyrim, there is a community for PlayStation if you didn't know, and thousands of games on ps4, including backwards compatibility they're are getting a lot of PC titles coming over as well, I can now play gang beast on my pro.
