Discord vs Team Speak Bandwidth
I have a friend with pretty crappy internet. He loses connection to games and discord all the time. We used to use TS but switched to Discord to try it out because it is free, but now he cuts out even more. Does discord use more bandwidth than TS? I know you can change the bit rate, but that doesn't seem to help.

It depends on the codec used. Teamspeak servers typically have various ones to choose from. The owner of a Discord server can set the bitrate to something lower than the default, but it gets robotic quickly. If multiple people talk, Discord almost always uses more bandwidth than Teamspeak. In 1-on-1 chats (direct calls, not using a server), Discord is relatively economic with bandwidth, around 6-8 kb/s.

So in general, Teamspeak uses less bandwidth. Your friend's issue may also be related to where the server is located.
