Looking for mediocre first person shooters
I'm a big fan of minimalism in games, some of my most memorable plays have been games that aren't the most impressive visually. Especially older games like Vietnam Black Ops. I haven't played many games like that but I'd like to. It's just really hard finding stuff like that because most of these games just fade away, and the ones that become infamous are pretty unplayable / bad.

I'd really appreciate suggestions for FPS games that are overall lacking in visuals and or gameplay. It doesn't have to be on Steam but if it is, I'd appreciate that too

Spec Ops: The Line is a generic FPS on the surface, but the story is easily one of the best in videogaming. A lot of people complain about the gameplay, but it's perfectly functional.

That's definitely a good first place to start. I always recommend that game to anyone.

Who cares, first person and third person shooters play exactly the same anyway.

Personally, I think perspective is important in a game. For the type I'm looking for, I'd prefer first person. For something like Manhunt, I think the 3rd Person perspective adds to the experience

But he was right, though.
I said it wrong, and he was just correcting me.

The COD: Modern Warfare games are the definition of mediocricy as far as the multiplayer is concerned
